The COGIC National Youth Dance Team is a ministry lead by Tiarna Moore from the Wood Street Assembly. It was a vision that was revealed to her in 2017 and birthed in 2018. The vision:

• To bring together the dancers from the various COGIC Assemblies across the UK to add another form of worship to our National Youth Conventions.

• To take our COGIC Youth Convention’s worship to the next level through powerful liturgical dance and to be atmosphere shifters.

Dance is a creative, expressive form of worship that is gradually becoming more understood in the Pentecostal Church setting. One of the aims of having this new ministry is to shift the idea of dance in Church being ‘mere performance’ just to watch and applaud, but for it to be understood as a ministry; for the saints to connect with as it is another form of praise and worship and I desire for it to be esteemed as high as ministries we are more familiar with i.e.: singing. The COGIC National Youth Dance Team includes flag dancing, mime, prophetic and praise and worship dance. Last year the first National Youth Dance Team was made up of 22 dancers, this was just the foundation of the team, we anticipate the team to grow every year both in numbers and spiritually, by the grace of God.

The COGIC National Youth Dance team also aims to help young people ‘IGNITE’ a gift they may not know God has placed within them. They may have ballet, contemporary or street dance experience, to name a few but have never praise danced before. I believe if young people can dance, then there is no better purpose to use this talent than for the glory of God. The very reason God gifts us with talents is to edify his Kingdom and to minister to unsaved souls to bring them to Christ.

We aim to convey a message through our dances, last year we ministered ‘Glory to The Lamb’ by Geoffrey Golden, our message was to convey the beauty of God, the beauty of Holiness, that even the angels cry out “Holy, Holy, Holy”. This year we minister a dance to ‘Open Heaven’ by Maranda Curtis whereby the message is, whatever you need from God, may it be healing, deliverance, etc. The windows of heaven are open for God to pour out blessings, if only you just believe and have faith.

We thank our National Youth President Pastor Nelson for supporting the vision and giving us free reign to praise dance at the National Youth Conventions. My prayer is that the national dance team go from strength to strength. Please pray us up as we know that as we glorify God, the enemy does not like it and will try whatever he can to disrupt this ministry.

God Bless You,
Tiarna Moore
